In November a fundraising initiative took place in the community. Interested students organised the 8th Annual Craft Fair, Sale of Work and Raffle in Clifden Town Hall on Sunday 17th. The students organised raffle prizes and received some generous donations from local people and businesses. Local crafters also availed of the opportunity to showcase and sell the results of their talents. A huge variety of goods were on sale on the day.
The TY students involved are very grateful for all the support and encouragement that they got for this event. Students agree that it was indeed a significant learning experience. Donations were also made to charities in the community. The €1200+ profit will now subsidise the upcoming TY trip. This year students will spend three days and two nights exploring Ireland’s Ancient East with visits to include Newgrange, Kilmainham Gaol, Slane Castle, NUI Maynooth as well as team building activities.
