Well done to our U15 girls soccer team, who had their first game of the season yesterday against Archbishop McHale College Tuam. It was an evenly matched game that could have gone either way. Unfortunately, it was not to be for our girls, as the game ended in a 3-2 loss.
Clifden dominated the first half and took an early lead. Five minutes later, Clifden scored again, but the goal was disallowed due to an offside ruling. The tide turned a few minutes into the second half, with Archbishop scoring two quick goals. Our girls battled hard and managed to get a goal back to level the sides. Unfortunately, after an intercepted ball, Archbishop scored the winner and held strong to keep out the persistent Clifden attack.
A great display from the girls and we wish them best of luck in their group games starting in January. 💪
Thanks to Ms Mc Donnell for her work with the girls.
