Clifden Community School
provides students from Clifden and western Connemara with a Christian education that supports positive human values in a caring and respectful learning environment. We seek to encourage holistic development in the individual, and to challenge our students to realise their full potential in preparation for adult life.
Our school serves students from west Connemara—an area stretching from Cashel and Maam to Ballyconneely, Renvyle, and Inishbofin. We promote responsibility, respect for the ethos and traditions of the school and community, as well as positive self-esteem, in an atmosphere best described by our school motto: Lux, Pax, Felicitas—Light, Peace, Happiness.
