Transition Year students took part in a forensic science workshop: “The CSI Experience” in December.
This interactive workshop saw the students dealing with practical and theoretical work on the day including trace evidence, fires, and shoe prints, fingerprinting, suspicious death, DNA, police photography and the court system. In the afternoon, there was a practical Crime Scene Investigation where students were given a mock crime scene and they were then able to put into use the information and instruction they had received in the first part of the day as they worked together as a team to carry out the investigation and subsequently solve the crime. This is the seventh year that CSI have worked with our TY students and Tys find it enjoyable and informative
