Hard luck to our senior girls who lost out to An Spideal last Thursday in Letterfrack in R5.
The girls put in an excellent performance all over the pitch against a very strong Spideal side who were strong favourites on the day. Our girls worked hard and put in a great effort. We found ourselves 3 points down at half time.
After half time we got off to a great start with a goal from Abigail Deane from the throw in which meant it was level pegging and all to play for. Spideal struck back with a goal of their own, but the girls kept their heads up and played right to the very end.
With Spideal leading through most of the game a goal from Faith Flaherty gave us a lifeline with 3 between the teams but unfortunately time was not on our side and Spideal finished with 2 more points meaning they ran out 5-point winners.
It would be impossible to pick out stand out performances on the day as all the girls that played were excellent.
