On Wednesday the 11th of September, the new TY group of 2019-20 set out on their Outdoor Education Trip to Petersburg in Clonbur. This link between CCS and POEC is long established and is becoming a time honoured tradition.
A trip at this time of the year is aimed at improving teamwork, building confidence and having FUN. Students arrived at 10.30 on Wednesday morning and the 1st activity of the trip started straight away with the students assigned groups. Activites over the 2 days included caving, gorge walking, abseiling, raft building and the obstacle course. Songs by the camp fire finished the long, challenging but worthwhile first day.
All activities were delivered by the Petersburg team of experienced, qualified & fun-loving instructors. The two days were tough and it tested students but they belonged to a team facing the challenges together -they proved themselves to themselves. What a fantastic start to TY!!
