Rachel, from Breast Cancer Awareness visited CCS virtually on Thursday 25th February to speak to TY students. Her talk debunked many misconceptions about Breast Cancer, as she shared her own story with students and answered all questions openly. Her presentation included a lot of useful information.
Breast Cancer Ireland’s mandate, in addition to providing funding to support pioneering research, is to provide education & awareness on the importance of breast health amongst women of all ages with a particular focus on younger women.
Breast Cancer Ireland believe that TY is an ideal time to educate young women about their breast health. The TY Schools Awareness Programme is tailored to promote good breast health, taking the fear out of a breast cancer diagnosis and educating young women about how to perform a self-breast examination.
