This, however, was not the final act in Transition Year in December as the students participated in a forensic science workshop call “The CSI Experience” during the following week. This interactive workshop saw the students dealing with practical and theoretical work on the day including trace evidence, fires, and shoe prints, fingerprinting, suspicious death, DNA, police photography and the court system. In the afternoon, there was a practical Crime Scene Investigation where students were given a mock crime scene and they were then able to put into use the information and instruction they had received in the first part of the day as they worked together as a team to carry out the investigation and subsequently solve the crime.
2018 wrapped up with a day out in Galway where TY students put their ice skating skills to the test. Click here for Photo
