Water safety

07-September-23
Water safety

As temperatures are on the rise for the next day or two- we are reminding our students and school community to be very careful and mindful around water and the sea.

    • Stop and think.
    • Stay together.
    • Check the tides.
    • Have means of calling for help on your person.
    • Telling someone where you are going and what time you will be back at.
    • Always wear a life jacket appropriate to the water activity.
    • If caught in a rip current stay calm and swim parallel to the shore.
    • If you find yourself suddenly in the water, lie on your back, arm stretched out and gently move your arms and legs, catch your breath and then call for help.
    • Call 112 or 999 and ask for the Coast Guard if you see someone in trouble.
