Unfortunately the team's run of wins came undone today in the semi finals v St Clares of Manorhamilton!
The team came up against an established senior side losing 3-0 . . . Even though we started strong we conceded two goals in the first 20mins due to a lapse of concentration. . . The team continued to push on and dominated at times linking up well through central areas of the pitch . . St. Clares continued to see out our attacks and even though we created a number of opportunities we couldn't find the net . . A number of chances hit the woodwork leaving us frustrated . . . A late penalty gave us hope but it wasn't to be . . . It was a proud effort for this young squad fighting for each other to the final whistle . . . A young team with 8 of our starting 11 being under 17 . . . This well fought match will give us good preparation prior to the U17s Semi Finals v either Castlerea or Charlestown TBC . . . A mention must go out to Devlin, Fallou, Cooper and Lorenzo who played their last match for the school, and Lorenzo whom took over the captaincy in the absence of Dara . . . Bravo 👏
