All TY students benefited from a “Business in the Community” workshop in school on Wednesday 15th January. This initiative has been run in Clifden Community School for the last number of years. Our link is Ms Ann Dillon who is the coordinator of Business Action on Education through Business in the Community, Ireland. This year our “Business Partner “ is Aviva.
Ann was accompanied to Clifden CS on Wednesday by a representative from Aviva for the initial workshop. More workshops will take place during the year both in school and in Aviva offices in Galway. The preparation work takes place in the classroom during the Business Studies class and Mr Hogan is the link teacher for the initiative.
Business Action on Education is a nationwide initiative that aims to develop mutually beneficial partnerships between schools and businesses in Ireland. The initiative supports the government’s overall strategy on educational inclusion. We are delighted to participate in the programme as we embark on the our learning partnership with Aviva.
